3D Scanning & Video
Weltkulturen Museum
Frankfurt, Germany

In an era when former European colonies were calling for the return of objects taken centuries earlier through slavery and colonial rule, ethnographic museums became central points of attention, as many of these institutions housed such artifacts. The presentation of these works within museum spaces, often enclosed in vitrines, contributed to perceptions of distance and confinement, with the display context influencing how the objects were experienced by viewers.

The project developed into a multidimensional photographic exploration shaped through photogrammetry. Cultural objects housed at the Weltkulturen Museum in Frankfurt am Main were digitally archived and later presented as projections. In collaboration with the collective COMMUNE6X3, close coordination took place with the museum’s board of directors and with curators of both the Oceanian and African collections to assemble a photogrammetry archive of selected holdings.

The work was exhibited at BLECH. Raum für Kunst Halle e.V. and published at evnia.magazine.
