The Debris Remembers (The Film) , 2025

In India, the bulldozer has become a weaponized tool of statecraft—performing punitive demolitions under the guise of legality. “Bulldozer Justice” targets architecture thereby affecting the bodies marked by caste, religion, and dissent, turning urban space into a terrain of erasure. Through various digital reconstructions, field recordings and interviews with victims, the video ‘’The Debris remembers’’ delves into the aftermath: looking at debris as the last witness to a violence otherwise masked as bureaucratic routine. As the Indian Preamble flutters in the wind, the video asks: what does the rubble remember, as machines of demolition quietly redraw the city’s cartography?
