commune6x3, 2021-ongoing

Art Collective Practice
Frankfurt, Germany

Commune6x3 is International artists and architects collective. Started in 2020 as a response to an ongoing pandemic, when cultural spaces became dormant, people could not gather and experience art. A group of artists and architects from the Städelschule, took it upon themselves to create artistic experiences outside of institutions in the midst of global hardship. Commune6x3 did its first public intervention in the summer of 2021 in a showroom container in collaboration with the adaptable housing company (Adapteo GmbH). In 2022, the collective was invited by Gudskul to participate in Documenta 15 in Kassel while simultaneously holding their second summer edition at the Osthafen Park, Frankfurt am Main. The central attraction was the 6m by 3m glass container, in and around which performances, workshops, film screenings, concerts and panel discussions took place. In recent times, Commune6x3 has been invited to the KELAS BARENG seminars by the German based curator Phillipe Pirotte, as well as exhibiting in Halle Saale - Raum für Kunst Halle e.V., an ongoing archival project with Weltkulturen Museum Frankfurt am Main.

Since 2023 the collective acted as a traveling mobile ecosystem with kids work- shops, activities, readings, public happenings, talks & video works produced by artists and architects in Frankfurt am Main & Köln community.
